There is something special about watching an idea grow. Over the past year, Coelho Ranch has continued to welcome more children, families, nonprofit partners, volunteers, and community groups from across South Monterey County. New experiences have taken shape, new spaces have come to life, and more people have had the chance to explore, learn, and connect at the ranch.
Now, we are excited to bring our community back together for the return of Sunset at the Ranch, our annual fundraising dinner, on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
This year’s theme is simple: Growing Something Good in South County
It reflects what we have seen happening all around us. Throughout 2026, we have continued developing the Incredible Edible Garden, expanding hands-on experiences with horses and animals, improving trails and outdoor learning spaces, and creating more opportunities for people of different abilities to participate in ranch activities. The ranch has also continued to serve as a shared resource for local nonprofits, schools, youth programs, foster families, and other community organizations.
Sunset at the Ranch gives us a chance to slow down for an evening and share some of that progress.
Guests are invited to arrive at 3:00 PM for optional guided ranch walks, time along the Sensory Trail, opportunities to meet some of the animals, and a closer look at what has changed across the property.
At 5:00 PM, we will gather for dinner and the evening program.
The ranch-style meal will include smoked chuck roast with au jus, brisket beans, creamy Gouda macaroni and cheese, fresh garden salad, and warm rolls. During the evening, guests will also hear real stories from people and organizations that have experienced the ranch, see some of what has been accomplished in 2026, and learn more about where we hope to go in 2027.
Why This Evening Matters
Coelho Ranch is more than one program or one organization. It is a place that other organizations can use to give the children, families, and communities they already serve access to nature, recreation, sensory learning, animals, gardens, and outdoor experiences.
That means a gift to the ranch can reach far beyond a single visit. As use of the ranch continues to grow, so does the responsibility of keeping it open, safe, accessible, and ready for the community. Support from Sunset at the Ranch helps with year-round operations, accessibility improvements, maintenance, staffing, and the continued development of projects such as the Sensory Trail.

Tickets are $75 per person and include dinner, the program, and the afternoon ranch activities. We hope you will come early, walk the property, see what has changed, enjoy the sunset, share a meal with us, and be part of what comes next.
